Remy de Gourmont once said, “Take love away and there is no longer art.”
I paint for the simple joy of it, for the challenge of it. With every painting to dare more, to love more, to communicate more, because I think at the bottom of art is the will to communicate. And I wish to speak of the pleasure of being alive on the planet, of seeing a vision that impinges on my inner eye so clearly that I spend hours, days, weeks - and in some cases perhaps a lifetime - in finding that vision again with paint, canvas, and perhaps a touch of alchemy.
